“He Wants Men to Have Full Control Over Women Again”: Ron De Santis Is Losing Female Votes After Waging ‘War on Women’

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, going up against GOP front-runner Donald Trump for the 2024 presidential election, is facing challenges with national female voters over key conservative policies, according to a recent poll.

The policies include a six-week abortion ban, opposed by 54% of women, the elimination of college DEI programs, opposed by 53%, the banning of college gender studies, opposed by 58%, and the option for people to carry guns with no training or permit, opposed by 75%.

The poll concludes that among surveyed women, between 34-59% are against the previously mentioned policies. The biggest percentage of opposition was for guns, with the six-week abortion ban a close second.

It’s not just female voters who are against DeSantis’ policies — the poll also shows evidence that Democrats and independents aren’t overly supportive.

According to Lisa Parshall, a Daemen University political science professor, “DeSantis is pretty well tied to the six-week, anti-abortion position and will have difficulty separating himself from it should he run for president.”

She believes that his policies viewed as “toxic” by women may hinder his candidacy and run in the presidential election.

One person commented on DeSantis’ values, stating, “He wants men to have full control over women again. Goes right in line with his “force nuclear family values” agenda.” Another shared, “Ladies please stop dating men that support politicians and policies that take away our rights. Just stop.”

Another person sarcastically said, “War on women? As long as women know their role, stay in the kitchen, clean the house, speak only when spoken to, and do not form any opinions of their own, then Radioactive Ron luuuuuuuuhs the women!”

Someone else noted that women have a responsibility when voting, stating, “Every able-bodied American woman has a duty to vote out all women-hating Neanderthals and creepy Republicans like Trump, Ron DeSantis, and Speaker MAGA Mike Johnson.”

“Medieval and misogynistic”

One comment read, “The man is so offensive. His views are deeply unpopular. I’m hoping he will step in it a few times and Americans will see how truly medieval and misogynistic this Bible basher is.” And another, “He is everything I do not want in a president. If he had his way completely, women would have no control over their own reproductive systems.”

Restricting rights

A commenter wrote, “Please vote out those who would limit a woman’s right to choose, a college student’s right to think unfettered by his whims, and let’s make people comfortable in the choices for how they choose to live their lives.”

Fake news?

There were some conflicting opinions, with someone else sharing, “Any post like this is fake news.” However, this was knocked back by others: “Most women today, with a rare exception, do not want some man telling them what they can and cannot do with their bodies.”

Insulting policies

“No educated woman will vote for Ron”, one comment read. Another agreed, “Signing a 6-week abortion ban in the dead of night will do that.”
