His Mother Kicked Him Out At 17, so When He Inherited the House, He Changed the Locks and Left Her and Her New Family Homeless

A man recently went online to share the tragic story of how his mother kicked him out of his house when he was just 17. Four years later, he legally inherited the property and decided to get his revenge. Here’s his story

The man wrote, “When I was 15, my dad died. My mom didn’t wait too long to “start over” and moved in with her new partner just two months later.”

“My dad left everything to me and not even a dime to her. My dad’s will was so structured that she couldn’t challenge it,” he added. “My mom attempted and even asked me to pass over one of my properties to her, but the will specified that I must be 21 to have access to everything he left me.”

His mother’s new partner had two kids. His mother prioritized them to keep her new man happy. He felt that her mother didn’t really want him around.

The man frequently got into arguments with her mom’s boyfriend. He acted like he was the man of the house, even though he owned the property.

When he was 17, her mother tried to kick him out of the house. Again, the man had to remind her mother that he owned the home.

Things got so bad that the man went to live with her grandparents. They told him he should try and avoid confrontation. His mother would visit periodically and tell her how much she loved him but that she needed to “keep peace at home.”

After college

When the man finished college, he went to check on the properties. He decided that the house his mother and her family lived in would make a good rental home to help pay for his master’s degree.

He went to tell his mom that she had to vacate. However, they were not home. He called her but got no answer. So he decided to change the locks.

Tense standoff

When the mother and her partner returned, they were livid. They shouted at the man, but he’d made up his mind.

The man knew he had taken some drastic measures. However, he felt it was justified because of how his mother had treated him. He wrote to an online forum to ask for a second opinion. He received some very supportive replies.

One poster said, “Your father had the sense to construct his will in the way that he did because he likely had the 411 on her character and motivations, and that is why he went to GREAT lengths to ensure that will was ironclad.”

While another commenter replied, “As a minor, you were kicked out of your own house and made a secondary priority. As an adult, you’re now doing what you couldn’t do then. Make sure you’re doing everything legally so they can’t make things harder on you. I’m wondering if your father knew something, and that’s why you got everything.”
