“Worst President in American History”: Trump’s Top Attorney Struggles to Keep Up With Trials – Asks to Attend via Phone

Amidst the myriad of trials faced by former President Donald Trump and his ongoing 2024 campaign efforts, his lead attorney is seeking approval to virtually attend his upcoming trial regarding classified documents in Florida, according to Newsweek.

Earlier this month, attorney Christopher Kise expressed to the court that the multitude of legal proceedings is stretching Trump’s legal resources thin. He also criticized federal prosecutors, accusing them of a “reckless” rush to bring charges against Trump prior to the 2024 elections.

“As the Court may be aware, the undersigned counsel for President Trump, Christopher M. Kise, is unable to attend the November 1st hearing in person because he is engaged at trial in New York State Supreme Court. Given this conflict, the undersigned respectfully requests that this Court allow him to attend the November 1, 2023, hearing telephonically,” detailed Kise in his court filing.

Furthermore, Kise highlighted potential scheduling conflicts between Trump’s Florida case and his D.C. trial concerning election tampering allegations.

It’s a violation

“The fact that they continue to contend that it is appropriate and not a violation of President Trump’s due process rights to push forward with back-to-back multi-month trials in different districts with wholly different facts — over a defendant’s objection — reveals a central truth about these cases,” stated Kise in his submission.

People online reacted to the news

One person commented said, “Worst president in American history!”, with another echoing that sentiment, sharing, “Amen. This man is going to jail. He is never going to be in the White House again.”

He’s putting Americans at risk

The person continued, “No, American is going to vote for a criminal who tried to steal an election, take away our democracy, bribe an elected official to steal classified documents, and put every American at risk.”

Not Fit to be President

One commenter questioned Trump’s ability to run the country, stating, “He can’t handle his court dates but he’ll be able to run a country behind bars? Yeah, ok. Maybe don’t do illegal stuff.”

He violated the 14th amendment

Someone noted that Trump was getting special treatment, saying, “He should be in jail for contempt of court, but he isn’t. He should not be allowed to run for president or any other government job; he violated the 14th Amendment by inciting the insurrection in the Capitol, but he is!”

Helpful for the country

Another person stated that Trump’s lawyers should do the right thing, writing, “If Trump’s lawyers have any kind of sense, they would get him to plead guilty to his crimes, and Trump will go on into prison and start serving his time. It would be helpful for the country. And also for Trump and his family, goodbye.”

Others agreed

Someone else simply said, “Donald Trump has been a professional criminal for years. Now that many, but not all, of his chickens have come home to roost, he is asking for a professional courtesy.”

Be careful

Another person warned that if this could happen to Trump, it could happen to a democratic nominee, stating, “Careful what you wish for. Don’t be surprised if a democratic front-runner comes under so many indictments that they are unable to run a campaign. Always consider the shoe being on the other foot. Is this what we really want as a country?”

Support for Trump

Others online disagreed with the criticism, saying, “At the end of all these indictments, President Trump will be sworn into power AGAIN January 2025!”

Political nonsense

Another Trump supporter agreed and said, “And possibly, if the Biden DOJ would stop intimidating and threatening Trump’s friends and lawyers […], Trump could get much better legal counsel. Not that he needs any because this is all political nonsense.

Too much evidence

Some commented on the overwhelming evidence against Trump, saying, ” Now we know why all the competent lawyers quit or refused to represent Trump, he’s a criminal. There’s so much evidence against him, that it’s impossible to represent him, without perjuring yourself as his lawyer.”

A serial criminal

One angry person, simply stated, “Trump is a serial criminal. He’s also a pathological liar, narcissistic sociopathic vile disgusting human being. A morally bankrupt treasonous grifter. The most petty human being on earth.”
